DockMe.

know if there will be a dock when you get there.

Citi Bike routing only matters if you can return the bike at the end. DockMe is turning into a native iOS app, map-first, that compares how you'd actually get somewhere — e-bike, bike + subway, subway, or rideshare — and shows dock confidence at your ETA with a backup dock already picked, plus a trip watcher once you're riding. The web analysis is the earlier exploration: captured station snapshots turned into return-room history by day and hour. The app is in active development.

the thinking

01
Catalyst

The annoying Citi Bike failure mode is not always finding a bike. It is arriving at the destination and circling because every dock is full.

02
Decision

Start with dropoff confidence, not a full transit app. The useful surface is the nearest dock, the backup dock, and how often that spot gets thin by day and hour.

03
Status

The web analysis is live with captured station snapshots. Now building the native app: a map-first trip comparison with dock confidence, a backup dock, and a trip watcher, no public link yet.
